The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) offers a route to permanent residency for skilled foreign workers and international graduates from recognized post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada who wish to live and work in New Brunswick. To apply for this program, candidates must receive an endorsement from a designated employer. This initiative assists New Brunswick employers in filling job vacancies that local talent has been unable to fill.
We are currently inviting New Brunswick employers to express their interest. If you are an employer seeking designation and wishing to endorse a candidate, please visit the INB Portal. You can either create a new employer profile or log into an existing one to submit your expression of interest.
Notice
As of September 18, 2024, New Brunswick is pausing the acceptance of new endorsement applications under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) for the rest of the year, as they have reached our full allocation for 2024.
However, applications for Employer Designation will remain open and continue to be accepted.
Employer Designation Roadmap
Steps to Obtain AIP Designation as a New Brunswick Employer
Step 1: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Access your INB Employer Profile. If you are a new employer, click on the “Register” button.
- Navigate to the “My EOI” tab and enter the required registration details. The contact person should be the main representative of the company who will manage the INB profile and oversee updates.
- Provide comprehensive information about your company, including its description, sector, years operating in the province, and labor requirements. For job positions, specify the title, location, NOC Code, salary, and anticipated start date.
- Submit the Expression of Interest (EOI).
Step 2: Invitation to Apply (ITA)
- An Officer will review your submitted Expression of Interest (EOI) by evaluating the sector, NOCs, and salaries provided.
- The Officer will reach out to schedule a formal discussion.
- Following this discussion and the overall assessment, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to proceed with the AIP Designation Application. If the Officer concludes that the AIP is not suitable at this time, they may recommend an alternative pathway.
- If an ITA is issued, you will be notified via your contact person. Log in to the INB Portal and proceed with the next steps under the “My Application” tab.
Step 3: Designation Application and Decision
- Log in to the INB Portal and navigate to the “My Application” tab.
- Check and update your company’s contact information if necessary. Complete and/or upload your AIP Designation Application in the “Employer Documents” section. Click on the PDF icon, save the document, and upload it to the “Employer Documents” section before submitting.
- An Immigration Officer will review your Designation Application. You will be notified through the INB Portal regarding the outcome of your application and whether your company has been granted AIP Designation.
Step 4: Candidate Endorsement
- Once the AIP designation is approved, provide the hired candidate with the company’s INB number as stated in the official designation letter found in the Notifications tab of the INB Portal.
- The candidate can then initiate their application on the INB Portal by selecting the “Candidate Registration” button. They should submit their application to the AIP, including the endorsement from their employer.
