Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, and PEI Nominate Newcomers for Provincial Immigration Programs


This week, four provinces issued nominations for immigration candidates through their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). Candidates were invited through economic streams based on their education, employment, professional skills, and more. Here’s a province-by-province breakdown of the results for the week of July 13-19, 2024.

Ontario

This week, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted four provincial immigration draws under its economic immigration streams.

  1. Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream: The OINP issued 265 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates with a score of 35 or above in a general draw.
  2. Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream:
    • The first part of the draw issued 424 invitations to candidates with a job offer in selected healthcare occupations and a score of 81 or more.
    • The second part issued 839 invitations to candidates with a job offer in other priority occupations and a minimum score of 77.
  3. Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream: On July 16, the OINP issued five invitations to candidates qualifying under the federal Economic Mobility Pathways project.
  4. Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream: On July 18, the OINP held an Express Entry-aligned targeted draw, issuing 1,240 ITAs to candidates in healthcare occupations with scores between 425 and 444.

British Columbia (B.C.)

On July 16, the British Columbia PNP (BCPNP) conducted five targeted draws under the Skilled Worker, International Graduate (includes EEBC option) stream, inviting a total of at least 68 candidates with professional experience in various in-demand occupations. The minimum scores for each draw were as follows:

  • Childcare workers: 94
  • Construction workers: 95
  • Healthcare workers: 104
  • Tech workers: 122
  • Veterinary care workers: 80

Manitoba

This week, the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) held two immigration draws under different streams.

  1. International Education Stream: On July 18, the province invited 109 candidates meeting the stream’s requirements.
  2. Skilled Worker Overseas Stream: On the same day, 52 candidates invited under a strategic recruitment initiative with a minimum score of 645 received letters of advice to apply. Of the 161 total letters issued this week, 16 went to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.)

On July 19, the Prince Edward Island PNP (PEI PNP) issued invitations under two streams.

  1. Labour and Express Entry Streams: 84 invitations were issued to individuals in the healthcare and construction sectors, those with expiring work permits in the manufacturing and professional services sectors, and applicants in the International Graduate stream with work permits expiring before the end of 2024.
  2. Business Streams: Two invitations were issued.
