Canada Invites 500 Candidates in June 4 Express Entry Draw

On June 4, 2025, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its latest Express Entry draw—the second one this week. This round targeted candidates with at least six months of experience in 37 eligible healthcare and social services occupations.

A total of 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued, with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score of 504. This marks a 6-point drop compared to the similar category-based draw held on May 2, 2025. Despite the lower cutoff, the competition remains intense as Canada continues to address ongoing gaps in the healthcare workforce.

Both draws reflect IRCC’s targeted immigration strategy under the 2025–2027 Immigration Levels Plan, which emphasizes quality over quantity in permanent resident admissions. With a reduced PR target of 395,000 for 2025, priority is being given to candidates with provincial nominations, Canadian work experience, and French-language skills.

What’s Ahead for Express Entry?

Analysts expect future draws may focus on:

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with CRS scores around 530+
  • French-speaking candidates, with lower CRS thresholds around 370–410

With no all-program draws in 2025 so far, candidates outside targeted categories may face challenges unless they enhance their profiles through work experience, education, or French proficiency.

Is a CRS Score of 450 Competitive in 2025?

  • A CRS score of 510+ is considered strong in 2025.
  • Scores around 450 may still receive ITAs in category-based draws (e.g., French proficiency or targeted occupations).
  • Candidates below 450 should consider profile improvements or pursuing PNP pathways.

Last Express Entry Draw
